News from the Regionals!

Congratulations to our amazing riders who attended the West Mercia Regionals. Only a small proportion of our riders want to compete and we came home with lots of rosettes, with two of our riders qualifying for the National Championships at Hartbury, the highest scoring dressage test in Herefordshire and the overall winner of the 3D class in the art competition. Plus masses of fun! For all the results from the qualifiers, visit the RDA West Mercia website. Well done everyone and a big thankyou to everyone who came to help make it a perfect day! Great new venue too.

Angela Hale, a yard assistant at Hereford RDA, is running the Cardiff Half for HRDA on the 26th March! Volunteer Training

Volunteer Training

We started the first week of the New Year with all our volunteers being introduced to the new members of our herd and undergoing some "refresher" training. On this session, Jelly was the patient "guinea pig" whilst the correct way to assist the Instructor to mount was demonstrated. We also used this opportunity to help Tintin in his training to overcome his apprehension of crowds - he looks pretty chilled out to us! We will be holding our next volunteer training session Wednesday 19th February 9.30 to 12pm. The topic will be Deaf Awareness. Please contact the office to book…

Xmas Carol Service

Xmas Carol Service

On Tuesday 17th December our Centre was filled with festive cheer and some wonderful singing as members of the Fire Choir performed some classic Christmas carols for our riders, volunteers and invited guests.  Wizard Wonky, as well as face painting (can you spot Fenella?) kept our younger guests entertained, whilst Steady Eddie gave some “taster" rides. The Right Worshipful the Mayor of Hereford, Councillor Phil Edwards lit our Christmas Candle and had some fun on Steady Eddie.  Father Christmas visited us as well and was very pleased with the sparkly grotto we had prepared for him! It was a lovely evening, full of goodwill and Christmas spirit, with some yummy bacon baps, delicious cakes and warming mulled wine provided to help keep us warm!  A massive thank you to everyone who donated their time and helped on the night – as always we are extremely grateful.
