Xmas Appeal News!

Xmas Appeal News!

The Courtyard’s 2015 Christmas Appeal partnering with HRDA has raised a total of £5,848.90 during the Courtyard’s most successful pantomime ever, Beauty and the Beast. Funds supported both charities – The Courtyard, and partner, Herefordshire Riding for the Disabled (RDA).

The money raised has enabled us to invest in a much needed, customised saddle for Jelly, which can be specially adapted for our disabled riders.

‘Working with The Courtyard has been even better than expected. It has made a huge difference to RDA through raising awareness of the equine therapeutic activities we provide to the community, as well as much needed funds to keep our Holme Lacey centre running. Funds raised from the Appeal have allowed the purchase of a bespoke saddle for some of our severely physically disabled riders, enabling us to provide for even more individuals the experience of horse riding on a regular basis, providing both physical and mental benefits that are difficult to replicate through any other activity.’ Lisa Millman, HRDA Centre Manager.

With the funds raised, The Courtyard will be able to invest more in its growing community work throughout Herefordshire, particularly with older and younger groups.
