The Holme Lacy College-based charity is opening its stable doors to festive well-wishers on Wednesday 15 December, 4pm to 7pm. Groups are welcome to join our festive celebrations. Family-friendly, outdoor event. Feel free to come along as a group with this booking link
Claire Chandler, Centre Manager says; “Our first public open day this year is for these festivities. We are happy to welcome our donors, school groups, families and individual riders and friends. Come down to meet the HRDA team for an afternoon of unbridled equine enthusiasm. There might also be some Elves hiding around the stables, so why not dress up to see if they will play with you!”
As a charity, HRDA can only deliver these life-changing activities via the generosity of donors, the dedication of our volunteers and the good nature of our horses. Come along to meet us, have a singsong and celebrate getting back in the saddle!
All of the HRDA activities support our clients’ education and learning, while also having fun! A Grand Raffle will help to raise money for the horses. Prizes so far include a food hamper, handmade crafts, seasonal treats, artworks, horsey treats, and various festive goodies.
At present HRDA has seven ‘Riding for the Disabled’ horses, fifty-odd volunteers and two main staff. Everyone is trained and qualified to deliver the best possible riding experiences, based on user needs, personal ambitions and therapeutic goals.
HRDA is an inclusive and diverse organisation. Via activities like riding and stable management it delivers therapy, fitness, skills development and plenty of customised options for personal achievement.
